Two Patio Entrance Mosaics
3.7 sq m (40 sq ft)

Two of five mosaics created for a private residence near Seattle, Washington, USA.

These two compositions can be seen as one long piece or two distinct pieces. The imagery in the longer, central piece, is: two Salish tribe raven head images; large curving red bands - a cross-section of the Nautilus shell spiral form; and a background wave pattern. The wave pattern and red spiral forms continue in the second, shorter piece, along with a stylized version of the underside of the local sea creature, the 'sand dollar', which is tiled in lighter colors, similar to the central colors in the nearby kiln mosaic.
