4.6 sq m (50 sq ft)
of five mosaics created for a private residence near Seattle,
composition superimposes two opposing moon shells (a Puget Sound
mollusc) over a simplified version of a high speed photograph
of a hydrogen flame burning under several atmospheres of pressure.
The central image of a flame/fire is appropriate for a kiln area
and both the ceramic tiles and the glass lines 'heat up' in color
as they near the center.
